– Violin – Maria Sawerthal, born in 1981, studied with Michael Schnitzler and Christian Altenburger at the University of Music in her native city and – with the support of a scholarship from the Austrian Ministry of Education – with Jonathan Crow at McGill University in Montreal. In addition, the violinist has attended master classes held by Nikolaj Znaider, Ernst Kovacic and members of the Vienna Philharmonic and was a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin’s Foundation ‘Live Music Now’.

Since 2010, Maria Sawerthal has been a member of the Camerata Salzburg. In addition, she is a regular substitute in orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony or the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, receiving many musical inspirations she also includes in her chamber music projects.
